New Feature & Improvements
Marketing Trigger Feature Now Supports Any Third-Party Email Provider
Until now, using the Marketing Trigger feature—which enables airlines to send pre- and post-departure emails based on marketing or operational criteria (such as schedule changes or baggage reminders)—required a SendGrid account connected to the AeroCRS PSS.
We are pleased to inform you that the Marketing Trigger feature can now be used not only with SendGrid, but also with any third-party email provider that supports JSON format. An example of the JSON, including all variables, can be found HERE.
If this option is activated, once a marketing trigger is initiated, a JSON payload will be generated by the PSS for each affected PNR and sent to the webhook provided by the airline. A third-party email provider can then retrieve this JSON, apply an appropriate configurable template (identified based on the trigger name, as shown below), and send the message to the customer or agent. Please note that the responsibility for configuring and managing the third-party email provider remains with the airline.
The SendGrid template must still be configured in the SendGrid Template section of the PSS; however, it can contain any SendGrid template ID, and the corresponding template does not need to be created within SendGrid.
The name of the SendGrid template is included in the JSON payload and should be used by the third-party email provider to determine which template to apply on their side.
If an airline is already using SendGrid, it may continue to do so for standard reservation-related templates (via the Ref Template section).
If you are interested in enabling the JSON option or have any questions, please contact your account manager or support team.
