Dear Customers,
We would like to update you regarding improvements done to the way you can set cargo rates in the system:
New pricing options
We have added two new cargo rates pricing options to the 'Cargo rates' sub-module screen:
- Pricing per NOP with MAX weight
- Pricing per NOP with overweight charges
Additionally, new fields were added to the Cargo rates setup screen:
The "Overweight charge" field should be used only if the "Pricing per unit with overweight charges" is selected.
When setting up a rate with the "Pricing per unit with MAX weight" option, enter the rate per unit (same as before), TAX and VAT, set the MAX weight allowed for the selected cargo type and handler.
The system will block the option to add a cargo service to a PNR that weighs more than the MAX weight allowed, the price will be calculated per the number of units entered.
When setting up a rate with the "Pricing per unit with overweight charges" option, enter the MAX weight and the overweight charges, please note that the overweight charges are calculated per extra kg/lb that is above the MAX weight.
Example: if the rate is set to be 100$ per unit, with MAX weight of 20 kg and an overweight charge of 5$, when adding a cargo service of 2 NOP that weight 25 kg in total, the pricing will be 225$ (100$ per NOP X 2 + 5$ X 5 kg overweight).
Handling fee
We have also added the option to set a handling fee per cargo rate:
The amount entered here will be added, once per service, to the PNR as a booking fee.
