Flight Lock lets you designate a flight as an emergency flight in the CRS. Once a flight is marked as emergency, it is locked from any changes: the flight itself and its bookings are protected, and the flight becomes unavailable through the CRS, IBE, and API. This ensures the system stays stable and no accidental changes are made during an emergency.
Who can use this feature?
Marking or unmarking a flight as emergency requires the "Flight Lock" permission. This permission is assigned per user in the user permission settings. Users without this permission will not see the Emergency toggle per flight.
What happens once a flight is marked as emergency
- The flight is automatically deactivated and closed.
- The flight and its bookings become locked and cannot be modified (with closed icon with a red background)
- The flight is no longer available for bookings through the CRS, IBE, or API.
Removing emergency status
Only users with the "Allow Lock" permission can uncheck the "Emergency" status to unlock the flight. Contact your administrator if you need a flight's emergency status removed.
Notes
- This feature is intended for genuine emergencies where a flight and its bookings need to be protected from any changes.
- Since the flight is deactivated automatically, plan accordingly before applying the Emergency status.
